Andrew Boryga is an, author, journalist, and editor who hails from the Bronx, New York. Currently, he lives in Miami, Florida with his wife, children, and cute dog.
He began his career writing for a local newspaper in the Bronx at age 16. By age 18, he worked his way into an internship with The New York Times. Since then, his non-fiction writing has appeared frequently in the Times, as well as The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Paris Review, The Daily Beast, and many other outlets.
He started writing fiction in college and worked on various iterations of his debut novel, VICTIM, for a decade. In March of 2024 it was published by Doubleday Books to glowing reviews from The New York Times, The Washington Post, TIME, and many other publications.
In addition to his own writing, Andrew has taught creative writing to elementary school students, college students, and incarcerated adults. He’s lectured frequently about the craft of writing and building a writing career to college students, and K-12 students. He’s also traveled the country with Pop-Up Magazine to perform a reported narrative story to sold-out audiences.
Andrew’s writing has been awarded prizes by Cornell University, The University of Miami, The Susquehanna Review, The Michener Foundation, The Florida Society of News Editors, The Florida Press Club, and The Society of Professional Journalists.
