Slideshow presentation of When Women Ran Fifth Avenue: Glamour and Power at the Dawn of American Fashion

I take the audience on a 20-25 minute journey through some of the highlights from my book. It features wonderful photos, some of which are featured in the book, and some that are not. I am also able to personalize the talk by adding a slide or two about a beloved local department store.

My journey as a writer

This talk covers my personal journey as a writer, from my start as a business journalist, to how I was first given an opportunity to write a nonfiction book. I discuss the challenges of writing narrative nonfiction, my research process, and how I choose stories and characters. I am also happy to discuss my schedule as a writer, what I am currently working on, and any other questions the host would like me to discuss about my writing profession.

Slideshow of The Plaza: The Secret Life of America's Most Famous Hotel

I have a slideshow presentation from my first book, The Plaza. It is roughly 20-25 minutes, and is a fun romp through history, from the arrival of Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt as the Plaza’s first hotel guest in 1907, to the Beatles’ arrival in America in 1964, to the status of today’s hotel.
